Just a reminder to anyone who holds a Dig Safely NY Excavator Certification.  The initial certification is good for five years.  However there is a continuing education component that requires anyone with a certification to have an additional one hour of training annually. See below information that was sent to me from Andy Schettine who works for Dig Safely NY.

In order to maintain the certification over the 5 year period there is a continuing education requirement. This can be achieved by attending any Dig Safely New York educational event. Examples are our Annual Excavator Safety Seminar in March (West Seneca), regional breakfasts in the Spring (locations and dates TBD)  or private safety talks which can be scheduled on-site. The general safety talk takes 1 hour (this does not require individuals to sit through another 4 hour class) with the breakfasts and Safety Seminars being longer events with meals, and other safety aspects included. All of these options are free, individuals simply need to register to attend an event or contact me (Andy) to schedule a private renewal class. Lists of upcoming events can also be found on our website. If certified individuals are registering for an event it is important that they do not create a new account but register as an existing user (otherwise they will not get credit toward their existing certification).

Andy Schettine will come to your office upon request and do the one hour updates at no charge.  His contact info is here https://www.digsafelynewyork.com/safety-training/field-reps  If you need the initial certification Dig Safely also offers the class via internet here https://www.digsafelynewyork.com/online-certification.
